HTML5 and JavaScript Projects ReviewAs an electronics engineer and a programmer I've read a lot of technical books in my life, I can honestly say this is the WORST one I've ever come across. If you studied programming in high school then I can say with certainty you're a better programmer than this author. I pity any student who has to endure a Jeanine Meyer class. Some of my complaints about this book include (but are definitely not limited to) the following...
- Many of the code samples are broken and the author does not follow current best-practices. It's clear the author hasn't written a single line of code outside of her sheltered academic life. She couldn't get a job as a junior programmer.
- If a point can be made in a single sentence you can be sure Jeanine waffles on for five pages without saying anything meaningful. Jeanine, take a leaf out of Douglas Crockford's books and get to the point!
- She uses analogies inappropriately and which don't make any sense (refer to her discussions of scaling on a canvas).
- Code samples for each chapter (listed in tables for crying out loud!) are annotated with meaningless comments which further indicate the author doesn't know what she is doing and which add absolutely no value. The following is an extract from table 2-2:

Seriously, "" is the "html tag"? I suppose her code is full of "i++ // increment by one" too...
- The author has obviously been paid by the page and is yet to learn the meaning of "concise".
Don't buy this book. If you get this book for free don't read it because it will actually suck knowledge from your head. Spend the cover price on coffee at your favourite cafe shop and devote a few hours to browsing the web, I guarantee you'll get better value for money.HTML5 and JavaScript Projects Overview
