The Wadsworth Guide to Research ReviewMany times when a teacher tells his students about a tool that will help to enhance their learning experience, they tune him out. Although on one occasion when my English teacher told me about The Wadsworth Guide to Research, I listened. My mother purchased the book from Amazon the next day and when I first received it, a week later, I didn't even know what to do with it. I spent the next hour just leafing through the guide and after turning each page, I was more and more engrossed with it. It was so easy to read, to understand and to find EXACTLY what I was looking for. The different sections were color coded and the index is neatly organized. I would highly recommend this guide to any high school student that has many different papers to write that involve anything in need of citation, or a works cited page. The Wadsworth guide also helps with different styles of writing and how to enhance a research paper. With this guide I was able to find out how a song is cited and it was very easy to understand and how each part was broken down. Basically, if you are planning on doing great things with your writing, this guide is definitely worth the money!
At the beginning of the year I was assigned a project in my Advanced Placement English Class and it was to gather different items that pertained to a similar theme I chose from the book Rise to Rebellion by: Jeff Shaara. I gathered all of the items with the similar theme and then I was stumped. I had to cite all 6 of these items and I had no idea where to begin. I remembered my Wadsworth Guide and ran to grab it. I flipped to the index and found out how to cite anything from a song, to a painting. This guide saved my life that night! Especially when I came into class the next day and received a 100% on the project, that made me feel wonderful and I wouldn't have received that grade without this guide. If you have ever been one to struggle through citing sources quickly and efficiently, this guide is a life saver!
